A new special track focused on competitions has been just added to the 2009 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Games and it is open for submissions!
Prospective authors are invited to contribute high-quality papers describing submissions to past or future competitions involving games such as othello, Ms Pac-Man, simulated car racing, Super Mario, etc.
Although the focus of IEEE CIG-2009 is on computational intelligence, this competition track is open to any possible approach that has been applied in competitions focused on games and therefore it also welcomes applications involving hand-coded solutions that proved to be competitive.
Papers should be up to 8 pages long, formatted according the conference format available at http://www.ieee-cig.org/?page_id=35
Submissions should be mailed to competitions@ieee-cig.org no later than Sunday July 5th 2009.
Papers will be peer reviewed using the same process as the other conference submissions and they will be published in the conference proceedings.
There is some nice and cheap student housing available near-by the conference venue.
Details are available in the accommodation page.
Good news! Due to the many requests we extended the deadline to June 14th 2009. Note that, because of the time constraints for reviewing and publication, the new deadline is strict!
Three keynote speakers have been confirmed so far, Yngvi Björnsson from Reykjavik University, Stefano Lecchi from Mileston, and Michael Mateas from the University of California Santa Cruz. Information will be posted soon on the keynote speakers webpage.
